The Palace of Versailles is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with the last admission at 6:00 PM.

The museum is closed on Mondays and May 1.

Visit the Palace of Versailles early in the morning on weekdays, right after opening, to avoid crowds. You can enjoy quiet time, especially during the low season from November through March.

There are several options to get to Versailles from Paris. 

You can take SNCF trains from Gare Montparnasse or Gare Saint Lazare. The trains arrive at the Versailles-Chantiers and the Versailles-Rive Droite stations, respectively. From both stations, it takes 17-18 minutes to walk to the palace.

You can also ride an RER train (Line C) which arrives at the Versailles-Château–Rive Gauche station, and then walk for 10 minutes to the palace. Or take a bus (Line 171) from the Pont de Sèvres station, which stops near the museum.

Enter the Palace of Versailles through Entrance A of the Main Courtyard. If you arrive with a group, go through Entrance B at the top right of the Cour d'Honneur.

General admission to the Palace of Versailles is €19.50 per person. The ticket allows entry to the Palace, The Recovered Masterpieces Exhibition, the Park, and the Gardens, except on the days of Musical Fountain Shows or Musical Gardens.

There is a reduced admission fee (€14.50) for the following people:

- Arras Musée des Beaux-Arts ticket holders and subscribers

- large family reduction cardholders

- members of societies of friends of national museums

- visitors who pay with a Chèques-Vacances card

The first Sundays of every month from November to March are free for all visitors.

The museum also guarantees free entry to people under 18, EU citizens under 26, schoolchildren and teachers in a French establishment, people with disabilities and their companions, social benefits recipients and job seekers in France, Culture cardholders, and École d'Art students.
