The Diamond Museum is less busy than its more famous neighbors, Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, and you can visit it any time you want. Still, the museum is relatively small, so it is better to come in the morning to have more space for yourself.  

The Diamond Museum in Amsterdam is open daily, including weekends and public holidays, from 9:00 AM to 05:00 PM.

• Learn everything about the diamond industry

The museum invites you on a journey through the history of the diamond. The leading exhibition explains the geological origins of diamonds and tells everything about diamond mining, polishing, and trading, as well as making gorgeous pieces of jewelry. You can explore diamond cutter tools and test your ability to see the difference between real and fake diamonds. 

• Marvel at real treasuries

The museum showcases diamonds of all sorts and shapes, striking jewelry pieces, and unique artifacts. You can see a copy of Van Gogh Starry Night encrusted with 504 diamonds and the Diamond App Skull inspired by Damien Hirst’s iconic artwork and covered with 17,000 diamonds. 

The Diamond Museum is located at Paulus Potterstraat 8 in Amsterdam’s museum district, just a few steps from the Museumplein light rail stop, which is served by lines 2, 5, or 12. You can also reach the museum by taking one of the following bus routes: 347, 357, or 397.

General admission is €11 for adults, €8 for students, CJP Pass holders, and teens aged 13–17. Younger children can visit the Diamond Museum for free. Entry is also free for holders of Museumkaart and I Amsterdam City Card.
